The Quartet studied with the Amadeus Quartet, Gerhard Bosse, Hatto Beyerle, and Walter Levin, and was granted scholarships by the Amadeus Scholarship and the Foundation of Culture Funds. It has won several honors, including 2nd Prize at the ARD Competition in Munich (no 1st Prize was awarded), the Busch Brothers Award in 1991, and the Siemens Music Award in 1992.
The Leipzig String Quartet's repertoire includes approximately 200 compositions by 55 composers. It has recorded the complete string quartets of Schubert, Dessau, Webern, Eisler, and Adorno. In addition, it has recorded works by Beethoven, Berio, and Cage.
The audience is invited to join the artists at a reception following the performance.
The concert will be presented in the Auditorium of the APS Conference Center (Bldg. 402) at Argonne. It is open to the public; no special permit is required to enter the laboratory site.

Remaining tickets will be sold in the lobby of the Argonne Cafeteria (Bldg. 213) during the week of March 11 between noon and 1:00 p.m. The Auditorium Box Office will be open on the day of the performance at 7:30 p.m.
