Nearly from its inception, the Nonet has been an ardent champion of the music of its time, inspiring and instigating the composition of nearly 300 works by some of the greatest composers, including Prokofiev, Lutoslawski, Martinu, and Schuhoff. In addition, its instrumentation allows it to include works from the Baroque, Classical, and Romantic periods in its repertoire.
The Czech Nonet records for the Praha label.
The audience is invited to join the artists at a reception following the performance.
The concert will be presented in the Auditorium of the APS Conference Center (Bldg. 402) at Argonne. It is open to the public; no special permit is required to enter the laboratory site.
