Myung-Hee Chung was the First Prize winner of the 1977 William Kapell International Piano Competition. She also received first prizes in the Portland Symphony Competition and the Chicago Symphony Young Performers' Competition. She was a prizewinner in the Gina Bachauer International Piano Competition and a finalist in the Busoni International Piano Competition.
Born in Korea, Myung-Hee Chung was a child prodigy, who won the prestigious National Competition in Korea at the age of nine. She came to the United States at age 17, studied at the Juilliard School with Martin Canin and earned her Bachelor and Masters degrees in music. Ms. Chung continued her study with Gary Graffman and Andre Watts at the Manhattan School of Music, where she received her Doctor of Musical Arts degree.
Dr. Chung has been performing widely as a soloist and a chamber musician throughout the United States, Mexico, Europe, and the Far East. She performed with the Chicago Symphony, the Baltimore Symphony, the Portland Symphony, the Concertante di Chicago, and the New Philharmonic. She has been a member of the Seraphin Trio.
The concert will be presented in the Auditorium of the APS Conference Center (Bldg. 402) at Argonne. It is open to the public; no special permit is required to enter the laboratory site.

Admission to the concert is $20. Call (630) 252-3751 to order your tickets now, VISA and MasterCard accepted; or use the ticket request form to order your tickets by mail.
Remaining tickets will be sold in the lobby of the Argonne Cafeteria (Bldg. 213) during the week of November 1 between noon and 1:00 p.m. The Auditorium Box Office will be open on the day of the performance at 7:30 p.m.
The audience is invited to join the artist at a reception following the performance.
A special pre-concert dinner will be offered at the Argonne Guest House restaurant. Dinner hours from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. $22.95 per person. Reservations requested (739-6000).
