About the Artists

For 50 seasons, the New York Woodwind Quintet has maintained its position of preeminence in the field of chamber music through numerous concerts and workshops in the United States, Europe, Asia, and South America.

Its members - Carol Wincenc (flute), Ronald Roseman (oboe), Charles Neidich (clarinet), Donald McCourt (bassoon), and William Purvis (horn) - are frequently heard as soloists, in chamber music performances, and as recording artists.

The quintet has collaborated on many occasions with string quartets and pianists at summer festivals and during university residencies. They first appeared for Arts at Argonne in 1989 with the Orion String Quartet in a performance of Bach's Art of the Fugue.

The concert will be presented in the Auditorium of the APS Conference Center (Bldg. 402) at Argonne. It is open to the public; no special permit is required to enter the laboratory site.
