Security

Dear friends of Arts at Argonne,

As a result of heightened security conditions throughout the nation, all Department of Energy laboratories, including Argonne National Laboratory, have implemented additional security measures.

All on-site special events open to the public now require pre-registration of visitors and guests. A photo I.D., such as a driver's license or passport, is required for site access. Pre-registered patrons will be issued individual gate passes as they arrive at the Northgate entrance. Argonne and DOE employees do not need to pre-register, but will need their badges to gain access to the site. Badges and passes must be prominently displayed while on site. All vehicles entering the site are subject to search.

If you plan on attending an Arts at Argonne event, please do the following:

• Pre-register as soon as possible (phone 630.252.3751, fax 630.252.6720, e-mail smorss@anl.gov) by providing the name and citizenship for every attendee. For patrons who are not US citizens, you will also need to provide the country of citizenship, and the date of birth. In addition, please provide a phone number at which you or your group can be reached, in case there are additional questions.
• Plan on arriving 30 to 45 minutes early to allow for security checks.
• Have a photo ID (Argonne/DOE badge, driver's license/state ID, passport, or school photo ID) ready for every person in the vehicle.
• In order to help expedite random vehicle searches, try to have your car as free of clutter as possible.
• Wear your badge/gate pass at all times while on site.
• Tickets will be available for sale/pickup at the box office.

  Please also note that while Argonne and DOE employees do not need to preregister, their guests (including immediate family members) need to be pre-registered to gain site access. This is true regardless of whether or not they will be accompanied by an Argonne/DOE employee when entering the site.

  Please note that it is essential that non-U.S. citizens pre-register as soon as possible in order to ensure appropriate review and approval. Non-U.S. citizens from embargoed countries require prior review and approval by the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Energy.
