Cavani String Quartet
The opening concert of the 1996--97 Arts at Argonne Chamber Music Series features two highly acclaimed string quartets: the Colorado String Quartet (Julie Rosenfeld and Deborah Redding, violin; Francesca Martin Silos, viola; and Diane Chaplin, cello) and the Cavani String Quartet (Annie Fullard and Mari Sato, violin; Kirsten Docter, viola; and Merry Peckham, cello), both recipients of the prestigious Naumburg Chamber Music Award. The Colorado appeared earlier for Arts at Argonne in 1993. The two quartets will join to perform Mendelssohn's Octet for Strings.

The concert will be presented in the Auditorium of the APS Conference Center (Bldg. 402) at Argonne National Laboratory. The concert is open to the public; no special permit is required to enter the laboratory site. A reception will follow the performance.
