2008 Illinois State Championship Rube Goldberg Machine Contest
11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 22,
Chicago Children's Museum, Navy Pier

9:00 a.m. — Teams can arrive and set up machines. Judges will take machine step descriptions as teams are ready.

10:00 a.m. — Meeting of judges and timers. Machines must be set up and ready to run by 10:30 a.m.

10:30 a.m. — Judges meet with team spokespersons, collect remaining machine step descriptions.

11:00 a.m. — Contest officially starts: Introduction of contestants; judges tour and review machines, hear descriptions; running of first machine. Before their run, each team will have five minutes to publicly describe their machine and what they expect it to do.

Public demonstrations and reruns of machines may take place if time allows between the last official run and the awards presentation.

1:00 p.m. — Winner is announced. Replay of winning machine. Public demonstrations of machines.
