2009 Argonne Rube Goldberg Machine Contest
10:30 a.m., Friday, Feb. 13, 2009
Chicago Children's Museum
Navy Pier, Chicago

8:30 a.m. – Chicago Children's Museum opens its receiving entrance early so teams can enter and set up machines. Judges will take machine step descriptions as teams are ready.

9:30 a.m. – Meeting of judges and timers.

10:00 a.m. – Judges meet with team spokespersons, collect remaining machine step descriptions.

10:30 a.m. – Contest officially starts: Introduction of contestants; judges tour and preview machines, hear descriptions; running of first machine. Before their run, each team will have five minutes to publicly describe their machine and what they expect it to do.

Public demonstrations and reruns of machines are encouraged if time allows between the last official run and the awards presentation.

2:00 p.m. – Awards presentation: People's Choice Award, third place, second place, first place. Replay of winning machine. Public demonstrations of machines.

3:00 p.m. – Cleanup

5:00 p.m. – Museum closes.
