Speakers Bureau: Of Cabbages and Kings

Argonne is part of its community. The interests of its people run to the future of science, as well as to areas of the present that have little to do with particle accelerators and test tubes.

  • Education – From our schools come the scientists and engineers who will answer the questions that come from the solutions we find today. No one with the talent and the interest should be cut off from their potential.

Educational Programs

  • Newton – This free online service lets students contact Argonne scientists.
  • Careers in Science and Engineering (Career Day Programs) – What does it take to go into the sciences? What are the challenges and the rewards? What should you be doing to prepare? Speakers will talk about the sciences in general and their areas of expertise in specific.
  • Women in Science and Technology
  • Science Fair Judges

Other Scientific Topics – Argonne scientists and engineers are prepared to talk about a range of subjects, from science in general to specific areas of research and development. Presentations can be for general or technical audiences.

  • Science: Its Methods and Its Value
  • The Art of Invention – What leads a scientist or engineer to a particular application?
  • Communicating Science – Expert speakers are available to address a wide range of topics, including engineering, mathematics, physics, optics, thermal sciences, photosynthesis, materials science , nuclear physics, and free-electron lasers.

About Argonne – An overview of the laboratory and its place in the community and the nation.

Miscellaneous – Argonne employees have a wide range of experience and often are ready to share experiences that are of broad interest even though the topics do not relate to the work Argonne does. Such topics include:
