Remote probing of the lower atmosphere and oceans; influences of complex terrain on the energy and dynamics of the lower atmosphere; nocturnal evolution of the lower atmosphere; turbulent exchange of mass, momentum and heat in the atmosphere; instrument development; emergency response instrumentation, modeling and implementation.
