Advanced computing is a major research initiative at Argonne. Argonne and University of Chicago researchers are combining their expertise in physics and computing to understand detonation shock waves on a nova. Advanced computing allows research to conduct experiments that could not otherwise be done, test possible experiments before carrying them out and create models of complex phenomena.
