Access Grid
technology was used to fight the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome
(SARS) outbreak in Taiwan. “SARS Grid” linked several
hospitals and the island’s Center of Disease Control to
enable them to pool medical resources and share information in
real time. The network operations center was at Taiwan’s
National Center for High-Performance Computing.
