Current Research
The U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) has established its only high-performance computing and engineering analysis research
facility at Argonne National Laboratory to provide applications support in key areas of applied research and development for the
USDOT community. The Transportation Research and Analysis Computing Center (TRACC) features a state-of-the-art massively parallel
computer system, advanced scientific visualization capability, high-speed network connectivity, and modern engineering analysis
software.
Although TRACC is to be used by the USDOT community for a broad spectrum of research, initial applications and technologies have
been identified to have highest priority for research and development (R&D) and user support. These R&D projects emphasize
the exchange of research results with the private sector and collaboration with universities to foster and encourage technology
