Argonne National Laboratory

Outreach & Education
Argonne engages students in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education through energy, environment, science and engineering programs.

The lab develops educational and outreach programs based on the needs of the regional community, including science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) programs that impact minority and female students. Argonne Educational Programs helps cultivate the next generation of scientists and engineers.

Argonne hosts students year-round at the laboratory site and scientists visit schools to give STEM-based presentations. Argonne’s annual Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day and Science Careers in Search of Women events host more than 400 students from across the Chicagoland region.

Argonne also partners with organizations to provide internships and on-site programs that inspire students and broaden their interest in science and engineering.
