Louis Stokes Midwest Center of Excellence
"The LSMCE main focus is broadening the participation of minority students at the baccalaureate level and advanced degrees in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) disciplines." - LSMCE.

The Louis Stokes Midwest Center for Excellence (LSMCE) was developed in 2012 to communicate best practices, tools and information garnered from the Louis Stokes Alliances for Minority Participation (LSAMP) consortium to a broader audience. Chicago State University (CSU), Indiana University – Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI), and Argonne National Laboratory (ANL) are the institutions leading this work.

Argonne brings to this collaboration information on cutting-edge science and research in areas of leadership computing, energy storage and security, environmental sustainability, alternative energies, nuclear energy and national security through webcasts with Argonne staff. Argonne also brings insight into possible career pathways and information on career, job and internship opportunities within Argonne and the national lab system.
