National Security Facility (NSF)
Argonne National Laboratory's National Security Facility (NSF) is a flexible, state-of-the-art secure user facility that contains multiple national security networks, video teleconference capability, high-resolution graphics support, a fully powered and cooled data center, multi-level training facilities, and conferencing facilities. The NSF provides tools and resources to enable and strengthen connections between government sponsors and the broad set of scientific and engineering capabilities and facilities at the Laboratory, with the overall goal of improving the national security of the United States. NSF staff members facilitate delivery of quick-turnaround, specialized technology applications and operational support based on Argonne's technological expertise, to the U.S. Department of Energy and the intelligence, law enforcement and special operations communities.
The NSF provides programmatic support in the areas of physical, personnel, cyber security and requisite training for all intelligence-related work. This effort includes Strategic Intelligence Partnership Program (SIPP); human subjects work coordination; all related computing; secure destruction of sensitive components at the laboratory and the Technical Assessment Translation Services that provides technical translations for other government agencies.
