Abstract:
This talk will provide a perspective on the first results from the Planck mission on the CMB temperature anisotropy. Salman Habib will give a short introduction to the current key problems in cosmology and how Planck provides one of the most significant of all CMB measurements. Clarence Chang will then describe the technical aspects of Planck and how the results fit within our current base of cosmological knowledge, which has grown very significantly since the days when Planck was first planned.
