Relevant Argonne Research and Discovery, Lessons Learned and Current Site Status
Over two years have gone by since the 2011 earthquake and Tsunami in Japan initiated severe accidents at 4 reactors at the Fukushima Dai-ichi nuclear complex.
This presentation summarizes:
- i) ongoing ANL R&D relevant to accident mitigation measures that were exercised as the accident unfolded,
- ii) some of ANL’s contributions during the event that were part of the larger US response in support of the Japanese,
- iii) lesson’s learned from the accident, and finally current status at the site.
