Abstract:
Recent results from lattice calculations of the low-lying D and D_s meson spectrum are presented. Interpolators corresponding to meson-meson states are considered along quark-antiquark interpolating fields, and Luescher's method is use to relate the resulting energies in a finite box to continuum scattering phase shifts. Unlike previous lattice simulations using only quark-antiquark states, the results compare favorably to experiment. To illustrate that the features observed in the D meson spectrum are generic in nature, recent results from simulations in the light-quark sector and in charmonium are also briefly reviewed.
