Else Tennessen (CEPA) will present “How to Avoid Death by PowerPoint and PowerPoint Poisoning” and the next JumpStart meeting, Thursday, June 26, at 12:30 p.m. in the Bistro 213 Cafeteria Private Dining Room.

She will detail the ways to create powerful and meaningful slides that will engage your audience and convey your message effectively.

Abstract

Presenting your research objectives and results are a necessary part of advancing your project, obtaining funding, and winning over sponsors. Presentations can also be critical to career advancement. Your PowerPoint slides—and how you present them—can make or break your presentation.

About the Presenter

Else Tennessen, an Argonne coordinating writer/editor with more than 25 years of experience in technical communication, will present ways to create powerful and meaningful slides that will engage your audience and convey your message effectively.

Else has been at Argonne for six years. Prior to Argonne, she worked for Monsanto, AT&T Teletype, Bell Labs, and various other businesses. She has a Master’s Degree in biomedical engineering from Northwestern University, Evanston, IL.
