Abstract:
New ways of analyzing observations of distances to galaxies reveal that our local patch of the Universe is undergoing a high-speed motion in apparent contradiction to the standard cosmological model. There are also hints that this flow continues on much larger scales. I will discuss the observations, analysis and consequences of the flow and possible local and global causes for it.
