Navigating the Promotion Process
The discussion will begin with a presentation from Tracey Rossett who will provide an overview of the career path framework and discuss some complexities of the promotion process.
The panel members will be asked to comment on the following:
- What steps are taken in your directorate/division to enable employees (especially early career) to understand the promotion process?
- What is the best venue for a promotion discussion? (Appraisals? Development Discussions? Anytime?)
- How should an employee approach an individual for discussion of a promotion?
- How are annual appraisals and promotions connected, if at all?
