Abstract:
The goal of the g-2 experiment at Fermilab is to measure the anomalous magnetic moment to 0.14 ppm which will be a four fold improvement over the measurement at the previous g-2 experiment at Brookhaven National Lab. The current measurement of g-2 vs the theoretical prediction differs by 3 sigma which requires a more precise measurement to confirm the difference. This talk will cover the background of the experiment as well as improvements and current work being done for the Fermilab experiment.
