M. Cristina Negri
Cristina works on the integration of bioenergy within working agricultural landscapes to address the food, energy, water, and land nexus. Her work focuses on developing sustainable, multifunctional landscape concepts, which aim, by design, at the creation of ecosystems services. Her interests are in systems approaches where industrial ecology concepts are applied to water and land management and green infrastructure.

Mary Picel developed and managed environmental compliance programs in the areas of polluted site remediation and waste management to support the U.S. Department of Energy and other federal agencies. Her current focus includes assisting DOE in developing a permanent waste disposal capability for low-level radioactive waste.
