Job Description
  Basic Purpose
  Conducts basic research in computational science. Reports on results of research including publishing scholarly papers in scientific journals; and giving presentations at symposia, conferences, meetings. Acts as a key player in making strategic decisions, developing division initiatives, and preparing large-scale collaborative proposals. Knowledge, Skills and Experience
   
  Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  Comprehensive
Comprehensive knowledge of high-performance computational science. Comprehensive ability to understand and articulate issues in a broad range of sciences. Comprehensive collaborative skills, including the ability to work well with other laboratories, universities, and industry. Comprehensive experience and skills in interdisciplinary research involving multi disciplinary scientists and engineers. Comprehensive ability to provide project leadership and generate outside funding. Comprehensive independent judgment, the ability to abstract from specific problems to general solutions.
  Considerable
Considerable knowledge of the policies, procedures, and programmatic requirements of Argonne, the University of Chicago, DOE, and other federal agencies. Considerable ability to understand and synthesize the key elements of the technical and scientific research objects of ANL`s organizations, programs, and projects, and to persuasively summarize and communicate this information. Considerable ability to negotiate with and influence sponsors. Ph.D. degree and 15+ years experience/equivalent Master's Degree and 15+ years of experience/ equivalent Bachelor's Degree and 20+ years experience/ equivalent
