Job Description
  Basic Purpose
  The Systems Technologies and Diagnostics Department of the Nuclear Engineering Division at Argonne National Laboratory has a postdoctoral position available in the areas of electromagnetic wave propagation (MHz to THz), plasmas, communications, signal analysis, sensor network and data processing. The available research is in the areas of sensor and in particular remote sensing of nuclear, chemical or biological species. The work is both experimental and analytical. The successful candidate is expected to do both.

We are seeking a candidate who has a Ph.D. in Engineering Physics with skills in experimental and technical work and must be creative and able to develop ideas into proposals and consequently help to market them.

Candidate should have considerable knowledge of sensor and nondestructive evaluation (NDE) techniques, electromagnetics, plasmas, communications, data acquisition, data processing, sensor networks, and imaging techniques; considerable understanding of the physics of measurement (e.g., interaction of electromagnetic and acoustic energy and/or high energy particles with transmitting media).
