Basic Purpose |
| |
Conduct fundamental research and development in advanced granular materials for energy storage, with focus on atomic layer deposition of metal oxides on cathode particle surface in a coherently-controlled gas-fluidized bed reactor. |

Knowledge, Skills and Experience |
| |
Minimum Education/Experience Requirements The candidate must have a Ph.D. degree in chemical engineering, materials science, chemistry, or in the related fields with considerable knowledge, experimental skills and experience in:
1) powder/granular science, e.g. fluidization, process tech for preparing meso- macroporous powder materials, computation fluid dynamics (CFD) and molecular dynamics (MD) of multiphase flows;
2) surface material chemistry, e.g. ALD, CVD;
3) vacuum technology and
4) micro-characterization methods, such as tunneling electron microscopy (TEM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), AFM, and so forth.
Some knowledge in electrochemistry, e.g. Li-ion battery and super capacitor, is a plus, but not essential.
