Basic Purpose |
| |
Works closely with Argonne Leadership Computing Facility (ALCF) INCITE science application project team members, application developers and users to identify and isolate problems, extend functionality, and enhance performance of their applications through algorithmic improvements, code parallelization, and performance analysis. Develops computational algorithms and performance tools for Blue Gene. Develops deep understanding of scientific applications from diverse science disciplines. Presents at workshops and other user forums to educate users of the ALCF. Works closely with the User Services and Outreach group and Catalyst team to support users. |

Comprehensive Comprehensive understanding of computational analysis, including algorithms, performance, efficiency and scalability for high-performance computers.
Comprehensive knowledge of advanced scientific computing, software design and software methodology for high-performance computing and collaboration.

Considerable Considerable expertise in multiple high-performance computing systems and architectures.
Considerable skill in the solution of computational science problems on high performance computing systems.
Considerable collaborative skills, including the ability to interact well with vendors; excellent communication and presentation skills.
Considerable ability to create and teach instructional workshops.

Minimum Education/Experience Requirements Ph.D. and 0-1 year experience/equivalent
Master's Degree and 2-3 years of experience/equivalent
Bachelor's Degree and 6-8 years experience/equivalent |
