Job Description
  Basic Purpose
  Operates and maintains facility infrastructure equipment and completes compliance activities in the assigned nuclear facility. Responsibilities include performing required facility surveillance requirements activities (e.g., inspections, testing, and calibration of facility safety systems) on schedule, maintaining records associated with facility activities, operating facility systems as trained/instructed, maintaining facility equipment, assisting facility users and interfacing with and engineering and maintenance personnel.
   
  Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  Comprehensive
-Considerable knowledge of the operation and maintenance of equipment found in nuclear facilities and the skills and abilities required to operate, troubleshoot, and repair a variety of electrical/mechanical systems particularly: ventilation systems, electronics, motors, and controllers.
  Considerable
-Considerable knowledge of techniques, equipment, and instrumentation in the areas of fabrication, testing, data collection, and quality assurance procedures. -Considerable skills and experience in working with tools and equipment.
  Good
-Good knowledge of nuclear facility operations, handling of fissile and other radioactive materials, radiological control practices, and nuclear facility compliance activities. -Good verbal and written communication skills for interaction with supervisors, Principal Investigators, support personnel, outside contacts and to ensure the documentation and maintenance of accurate written records.
