Basic Purpose |
| |
Plans and directs project activities associated within the Office of Project Management. Functions independently, with limited supervision, to develop, implement, and track to completion various decontamination and demolition related projects. As Project Specialist, this position has the primary responsibility for successfully managing the project scope, cost, and schedule for all project phases. |

Knowledge, Skills and Experience |
| |
Comprehensive Comprehensive knowledge of engineering principles, practices, codes and standards as applied to the decontamination and demolition of research facilities and related equipment.
Comprehensive knowledge of Laboratory ES&H procedures and policies. |
| |
Considerable Considerable knowledge of project management principles and demolition practices including earned value techniques for budget and schedule control. |
| |
Good Good skill in preparing the design specifications, estimating the cost, and managing the decontamination and/or demolition of structures and systems.
Good skill in technical direction and supervision, oral and written communication, and maintenance of effective work relationships with others.
Good skill in negotiation and the ability to achieve designated project goals. Some skills in work related to the use of computers.

Some Some knowledge of other related engineering disciplines. |

Other Experience with project implementation supporting Department of Energy requirements is desirable. |

Minimum Education/Experience Requirements Ph.D. and 0-1 year experience/equivalent
Master's Degree and 2-3 years of experience/equivalent
Bachelor's Degree and 6-8 years experience/equivalent |
