Basic Purpose |
| |
Facilitate the hosting of more than 50 major scientific conferences, meetings, workshops and seminars annually, to ensure a favorable image and attitude toward the Laboratory and its programs by program sponsors, scientific peers, and other influential groups. Provide professional direction to other Laboratory division staff in event planning activities for meetings and other events organized directly by divisions. |

Comprehensive 1. Comprehensive knowledge of standard industry practices and protocols with strategic meetings management. |
| |
Considerable 1. Considerable organizational ability and skill in negotiating contracts.
2. Considerable knowledge of suppliers for facilities and services for event planning.
3. Considerable knowledge of DOE conference practices and protocols. |
| |
Good 1. Good ability in resolving conflict.
2. Good oral and written communication skills.
3. Good ability to supervise and train staff including organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments. |
| |
Minimum Education/Experience Requirements Bachelor's Degree or equivalent training and 2-3 years of experience
Certain professions may require a Graduate Degree and some directly related experience |
