Job Description
  Basic Purpose
  Carries out research and builds new programs at the forefront of material science and nanoscience.
   
  Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  Considerable
Considerable background in oxide MBE or PLD and experimental magnetic film basic research, including magneto-transport or magneto-optics, magnetic film preparation and processing and/or patterning, use of laboratory magnetic fields, cryogenics, electronic measurement instrumentation, computer data analysis and modeling, structural characterizations, and structure-property relationships. Considerable skill in formulating scientific issues.
  Good
Good skill in designing experiments, research facilities, and/or theories to address relevant scientific issues. Good skill in understanding abstract concepts and in synthesizing knowledge. This level of knowledge is typically achieved through a formal education in physics at the Ph.D. level or equivalent in the application of this scientific knowledge through practical experience.
  Minimum Education/Experience Requirements
Ph.D. and 0-1 year experience/equivalent Master's Degree and 2-3 years of experience/equivalent Bachelor's Degree and 6-8 years experience/equivalent
