Bio

Darius is a principal nuclear engineer and manager of the Reactor Safety Testing & Analysis section in the Nuclear Engineering Division of Argonne National Laboratory. His primary research areas are in experimental and computational thermal hydraulics with a focus on natural circulation systems and two-phase flow. He has led the design and construction of an 8-m experimental boiling water loop at Wisconsin and is currently the lead experimenter for the 26-m Natural Convection Shutdown Heat Removal Test Facility (NSTF) at Argonne. He has extensive experience in designing, assembling, installing, and operating advanceds sensors for air flow experiments. In additional to experimental practices, he has carried out extensive studies on scaling criteria, instability modes, and computational modeling with both system level and CFD codes.
