    • Low temperature, highly selective catalysts for converting natural gas or natural gas liquids to higher value chemicals and fuels

    • Catalysts with greater durability and higher selectivity for converting biomass to biofuels and biochemicals in harsh process environments
       
  • Fuel Cell and Electrochemistry
    • Low platinum and non-precious electrocatalysts for fuel cells and electrolyzers

    • NOx catalysts that do not require an external reductant
       
  • Hydrogen Production
    • Highly active and coking-resistant catalysts for producing H2 from biofuels, natural gas, LPG, gasoline or diesel 

Argonne scientists are experienced in the safe handling of a wide range of flammable and toxic gases, including hydrogen, methane, carbon monoxide and hydrogen sulfide, under all process conditions. All Argonne catalysis research projects are conducted under the highest safety standards.
