Argonne's R&D 100 Awards
Each year, R&D Magazine recognizes the 100 most technologically significant new products of the last year with awards.
The competition has two purposes: to recognize innovators and organizations for outstanding practical technical development,
and to identify industrially significant technological advances.
Argonne has won 107 of these prestigious awards since 1964, when the awards were established.
The Laboratory won five awards in 2009, for the following technologies:
- Argonne/Envia Composite Electrode Material Technology to Enable Plug-In Hybrids and All-Electric Vehicles
- Artificial Retina Technology
- Hard X-Ray Nanoprobe
- PETSc: High-Performance Software for Engineering and Science
- Superhard and Slick Coating (SSC)
