2015 LSMCE Annual Conference

The Louis Stokes Midwest Center of Excellence (LSMCE) will hold the third annual LSMCE Conference in Indianapolis, Indiana on October 23-25, 2015, at the Wyndham Indianapolis West hotel.

The LSMCE Annual Conference brings together a community of scholars from all over the United States to focus on accelerating diverse talent along the STEM pipeline. The conference provides a forum to consider and discuss broadening the participation of underrepresented minorities in STEM.

STEMfest 2015

This event will take place at Northern Illinois University's Convocation Center.

STEMfest celebrates innovations in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). Northern Illinois University STEM departments, student groups, regional corporations, museums, educators, and national labs are joining forces to present hundreds of activities that range in complexity to entertain people of all ages. We hope to increase awareness of the critical role science and other STEM fields play in our world every day.

Taste of NGSS Professional Development Leadership Institute

Argonne's Education Programs and BSCS are partnering to offer the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) Leadership Institute.

This series of four multi-day workshops is designed to help administrators, district level professional development providers, and teacher leaders deepen their understanding of NGSS and explore strategies for teaching other teachers NGSS.

The Postdoctoral Program Office presents the Faculty Mentor-in-Residence Program.

Adina Luican-Mayer (NST), the Alexi Abrikosov Fellow, has just successfully gone through an intense and lengthy faculty search process. She will be on hand for a brown-bag session to share her experiences.
