Why Fast Reactors? And When?
The talk will be a survey of how fast reactors can address the disadvantages of current light water reactors (at least per conventional wisdom). The fundamental differences in reactor physics, reactors safety, and fuel cycle options between LWRs and sodium-cooled fast reactors will be reviewed, as will the potential markets for SFRs.
