Argonne is the recognized world leader in nuclear reactor design, fuel processing, radiation detection, and radiological forensics. This enormous intellectual resource provides insight into and understanding of the use and misuse of radiological and nuclear materials and equipment around the globe.

Using novel applications, Argonne's goal is to strengthen the nation’s ability to detect, prevent, and interdict proliferation of nuclear, radiological, chemical and biological weapons.
