Pavan Balaji, senior computer scientist and group lead in the Mathematics and Computer Science Division of Argonne National Laboratory, has been named a “Distinguished Member” of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM).
The researchers received 585,000 node-hours of computing time on the Summit supercomputer at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. The project was one of 51 selected competitively based on their potential to advance scientific discovery.
The research described in the winning paper is focused on using a high-performance, iterative reconstruction system for noninvasive imaging at synchrotron facilities.
