Advanced Photon Source Sector 13: GSECARS

Treated lumber is used in construction to extend the life of wood structures. This experiment tested the stability of micronized copper in treated lumber. Micronized copper was evaluated in treated lumber subjected to extreme conditions of heat and humidity to look for reactions with metal fasteners of differing composition.
