An Introduction of KISTI-5 Supercomputer Nurion”

MCS Seminar

Abstract: This talk introduces the National Supercomputing R&D Headquarters at the Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information (KISTI). the KISTI-5  Supercomputer, Nurion,” was built in 2017. It is the world’s 15th fastest supercomputer with a computation speed of 25.7 petaflops. Activities of the Center for Supercomputing Applications (CSA) at  KISTI will also be highlighted. KISTI focuses on parallelization and optimization of scientific codes with the aim of helping Korean researchers to use Nurion efficiently in various research fields. The CSA-KISTI is involved in scientific research efforts spanning various computational science fields.

Bio: Han Seul Kim is a senior researcher at the CSA-KISTI. She received her Ph.D. in materials science. Her research focuses on first-principles computational studies of the quantum electron transport of low-dimensional nanomaterials, and she is currently interested in solving more realistic problems of nanodevice interfaces with a rger number of atomsby using high-performance computing.
