Gravitational Effective Field Theory Islands and the Four-Graviton Amplitude

HEP Theory Seminar

Abstract: Effective field theory Wilson coefficients can be bounded by applying basic principles including untarity, crossing and high-energy growth of amplitudes in the underlying theory.  We present evidence that much stronger bounds should exist for physically sensible theories that are yet to be uncovered.   We do this in the context of the four-graviton amplitude which is believed to obey strict constraints in the high-energy Regge limit.
