SMEFT beyond O(1/Lambda^2)

Abstract: In this talk, I’ll talk about truncation errors in the Standard Model Effective Field Theory (SMEFT) paradigm — meaning errors from higher terms in the EFT expansion. The main tool I’ll use to tackle this type of uncertainty is special operator basis called the Geometric SMEFT,” or geoSMEFT. I will explain the benefits of the geoSMEFT basis and go through some preliminary studies of the impact of O(1/Lambda^4) terms on observables such as Higgs partial width to photons and Z-pole physics.
