The Particle Data Group and the Review of Particle Physics

HEP Lunch Seminar

Abstract: The Particle Data Group (PDG) publishes the Review of Particle Physics (RPP) and the PDG booklet every two years. The RPP includes 118 reviews, and until recently, detailed listings of particle properties (masses, branching ratios, etc.). The listings are now available on the web through an interface known as PDGLive and are updated annually. After an overview of the PDG and RPP, I will describe some example issues involving a review (Higgs) and the listings (neutrino). I will also describe some upcoming changes in the definition of fundamental constants, some meson name changes, and the issue of whether to continue printing of the RPP and the booklet.
