Dr. David McCallum serves as New Program Capture Manager in the Technology Commercialization and Partnerships Division. He joined Argonne in 2014 to work on ways of expanding the laboratory’s funding base. McCallum also provides writing and strategy support for Argonne staff members who are involved in proposal preparation.
Before joining Argonne, Dr. McCallum was Vice President for Business Development with MicroLink Devices, a startup engaged in the development of thin, flexible, lightweight GaAs-based solar cells. Prior to that, he was employed by a number of small businesses in roles that included fundraising and technology development and commercialization, and for Molex Fiber Optics, where he worked on the development and commercialization of fiberoptic transceivers.
Dr. McCallum received a Ph.D. in Physics from Imperial College, London, where he also did postdoctoral work. He received an M.B.A from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a B.Sc. in Physics from the University of Strathclyde.
