Deon Ettinger is the Educator Emeritus, where he works with faculty and students at all levels of science education. He came to Argonne in 1979, where he was engaged in the development of advanced instrumentation for analytical chemistry and in various other research projects.
Ettinger’s research interests are in the area of chemical analysis and information theory, and the evolution of educational systems as driven by technological and cultural changes. He is a past president of the Argonne Chapter of Sigma Xi and has served as a member of the Board of Directors of the University of New Mexico Alumni Association. He has a Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of New Mexico and a B.Sc. in chemistry from Dalhousie University.
