Johann Rudi received his Ph.D. from ICES, the University of Texas at Austin. He won the ACM-IEEE CS George Michael Memorial HPC Fellowship in 2016 for his project “Extreme-Scale Implicit Solver for Nonlinear, Multiscale, and Heterogeneous Stokes Flow in the Earth’s Mantle” and the ACM Gordon Bell Prize in 2015 for his work on an extreme-scale implicit solver for complex PDEs.
