Biography

I aim to do research and teach in the multidisciplinary fields of genomics, microfluidics, medicine, and nano- and bio-materials. Combining these various scientific research areas, I will bring new technologies to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of human disease. These are areas where I have trained and sought expertise in through my Ph.D. in soft matter Physics under Dr. Arjun Yodh, followed by my post-doctoral studies in microfluidics in the applied Physics group of Dr. David Weitz and single-cell genomics in the Systems Biology group of Dr. Aviv Regev at the Broad Institute. As a joint appointee at Argonne National Laboratory and University of Chicago, I continue to work in this very exciting interface of science by bringing bio-/nano-materials and device capabilities at Argonne National Laboratory to answer pressing scientific questions in genomics, biology and medicine at the University of Chicago.
