Biography
Dr. Pokkuluri has received a Ph.D. in Chemistry from University of British Columbia, Vancouver, B.C. (Canada). His graduate research included small molecule crystallography and organic photochemistry. After Ph.D., he turned to protein crystallography, which has been his area of research ever since. Dr. Pokkuluri has extensive experience in all aspects of protein crystallography.
Research interests
Structural biology – understanding properties and functions of proteins in various parts of biology. Current interests include Rubisco activase, multiheme cytochromes, signal transduction proteins and antibodies.
Another area of interest is modifying biological materials (primarily multiheme cytochromes) for applications in solar fuels in collaboration with the CSE division at Argonne.
