Xinglong Chen

Biography

Xinglong Chen is a postdoctoral appointee in the Emerging Materials Group. He received his B.S. from Shandong University in 2012 and Ph.D. from University of Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2018 directed by Prof. Shilie Pan for the design and development of new opto-electronic functional materials including nonlinear optical (NLO) materials and birefringent materials. Subsequently he worked for Prof. Kang Min Ok at Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) and Sogang University as a postdoctoral research associate focusing on the exploratory synthesis, large crystal growth and structure-property relationship study of novel inorganic oxides with noncentrosymmetric (NCS) structures. He has extensive practices in bulk single crystal growth by multiple growth techniques including high O2 pressure floating zone growth, top-seeded solution growth, Czochralski method and micro-pulling-down method. His current research focuses on the high-quality bulk single crystal growth and physical property study of nickelates and other quantum materials with exotic electronic and magnetic behaviors.
